Capacitors
Choosing right submersible pump capacitor is a difficult task for the normal people, that is why Tibcon is providing you some useful
tips to make a right choice. Pool Pump capacitors are 2 types that are Motor Run Capacitor and Start capacitor.
The Motor Run Capacitor is merged into the
motor circuit to increase the capacitor running efficiency. The run capacitor
normally rated at 15-50 MFD and 370 VAC. Start capacitor helps motorists turn on and off the first mode of motor winding
circuits. When driving with motor speed, the initial capacitor varies into
winding circuits, it is normally rated at 125 or 250 VAC and 50-400 MFD.
All pool pump motors will not use capacitors. The split phase motor is extensively used in the jetted
and spa tubs, and above ground pools. It has a start switch and starts winding
without capacitors. The Tibcon motor Start Capacitor is mostly used is
in ground pool pumps.
The starting torque is higher than full load and starting
current is lower than the split phase equivalent. There is no start switch for
the permanent split capacitor and is
often called as a “switchless” motor. If you want to replace your pump capacitor, replace it by matching
with the 'MFD' number on the capacitors.
